Installation 3

2024

(Speculative)

Continuing with my interest in manipulating metal to create ‘textiles’ that interact with light. Warp is an activatable structure where by lights move inducing variations in lighting patterns. It would be introduced & demonstrated to the festival goers by a live improvised dance & musical enbamble, able to adjust the lighting rythmically as they perform. The system can be scaled, but began as a wall structure with bespoke kinetic mechanisms. Extremely difficult and labor intensive to manufacture at scale to be safe.

Strider

2024

(Proposal)

Site specific installation inspired by stider insects that sit ontop of water.

Installation 2

2024

Brixton, London
(Speculative)

1:10 scale model of a site specific wind powered installation. Inspired by the motion and form of agricultural machinery and our growing dependence on it, the components lurch, swing and rotate through a series of interconnected mechanical pathways.

Sensory performance and installation. Comprised of three datums created using thin membranes, which interacted with each other and the courtyard displaying caustic light and echoing sound. I focused on production of the lowest datum, a latex membrane, clamped at the corners with hand crafted handles. I reiterated the design to manipulate the material into uncharacteristically being translucent whilst withstanding tension and vigorous movement. It could be flexed and shaken to produce reflections on the floor and umbrellas above and immense sound.
